How to Unzip Files on Windows, Mac, and iOS Devices

On Windows


1. Locate the Zip File: Navigate to the folder containing the zip file you wish to unzip.


2. Right-Click the File: Right-click on the zip file, and a menu will appear.


3. Extract the Files: Select "Extract All" from the context menu. You’ll be prompted to choose a destination for the extracted files. You can select a location or use the default one provided.


4. Access Your Files: After the extraction process is complete, open the destination folder to access the uncompressed files.


How to Unzip Files on a Mac


1. Locate the Zip File: Find the .zip file you want to unzip in the Finder.


2. Double-Click the File: Simply double-click the zip file. The Archive Utility will automatically start, unzip the file, and place the contents into a new folder with the same name as the zip file, located in the same directory as the compressed file.


3. Access the Unzipped Files: Open the newly created folder to access the uncompressed files.


On iOS (iPhone or iPad)


1. Find the Zip File: Open the Files app and go to the location of the zip file.


2. Tap the File: Simply tap on the zip file. iOS will automatically extract the contents and create a new folder named after the zip file.


3. View Extracted Files: Tap the new folder to view the extracted files.
